New EPA Regulations Set High Standards for Trucking Industry
In an effort to reduce carbon emissions in the U.S. by 25 percent through 2025, the Environmental Protection Agency has mandated the trucking industry to upgrade its vehicles with more efficient, environmentally friendly equipment.
According to the EPA and National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the regulations will be enforced until 2027, and is expected to avoid 1.1. billion metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
The new regulations will apply to the following vehicles: Tractor trailers, delivery vans, garbage trucks, large pickups as well as medium and heavy-duty trucks.
